Candidates who do not meet the academic pre-requisites (see Admission requirements) will be required to sit admission tests.

To be admitted to the DAES programme, all candidates with a foreign diploma must have Luxembourg recognition of an equivalent diploma and sufficient language skills in English, French and/or German.

The admission tests will be held on 20 and 21 May 2025. The registration period for the tests is between 15 April and 15 May 2025.

The admission tests cover the following subjects: French, German, English and mathematics.

Programme

German test programme

The German knowledge tests cover the following elements:

  • A reading comprehension questionnaire on a literary text (multiple-choice questions, True/False, etc.),
  • A test covering grammar, spelling, and syntax,
  • A written expression test of 120 to 150 words on a general topic.miliar text,

English test programme

The English knowledge tests cover the following elements:

  • A reading comprehension questionnaire (multiple-choice questions, True, False, Not Given, etc.) on a current affairs text,
  • A test covering grammar, spelling, and syntax,
  • A written expression test of 120 to 150 words on a general topic.

French test programme (DAES Day class + Evening class)

The French knowledge tests cover the following elements:

  • Written expression: writing a personal opinion based on a topic related to the text analyzed in the previous section. (10 points)
  • Reading comprehension: analysis of a current affairs text. (10 points)
  • Comprehension questions: True or False?
  • Vocabulary: Multiple-choice questions (MCQ)

French test programme (DAES International)

The French knowledge tests cover the following elements:

  • A written expression test of 120 words on a general topic.
  • A reading comprehension questionnaire on a literary text (multiple-choice questions, True/False, etc.),

Mathematics test programme

  • Relative numbers, powers, square roots, fractions, percentages: ability to perform calculations using basic operations and properties.
  • Literal calculation: expanding and factoring expressions involving multiple operations, powers, square roots, and using notable identities in literal calculations.
  • First-degree equations and inequalities: solving first-degree equations or equations reducible to the first degree, as well as quotient equations.
  • Problem-solving: solving problems using first-degree equations, proportionality problems, and percentage problems.
  • Common measurement units are assumed to be known.
