What are the characteristics of the job?
The socio-educational officer looks after children in the field of non-formal education.
Socio-educational officers can work in education and care establishments for children (maisons relais, day centres or school hostels, crèches, mini-crèches) or
day centres for children and adolescents.
What is the objective of the training?
Vocational training as a socio-educational officer provides students with a general, theoretical and practical education that enables them to obtain a vocational qualification sanctioned by the vocational aptitude diploma (DAP).
What does this training consist of?
Training to become a socio-educational officer, organised in the form of an apprenticeship for adults, normally lasts 3 years and is organised at ENAD under a concurrent programme (under an apprenticeship contract).

Registration
Candidates must register for an adult apprenticeship with ADEM (see notice below).
Apply (normally from May of the school year preceding entry) to ADEM at the following addresses:
Decision
An advisory committee will decide on the access and admission of candidates who have submitted a complete application. Applicants will be informed by letter of the decision of the Adult Apprenticeship Advisory Board.

Search for a training company
Candidates will be looking for a training employer with a view to signing an apprenticeship contract (required for admission to an adult apprenticeship).
Access to classes
Once apprentices have received their assignment from ADEM, they make an appointment with ENAD to register for the course. The following documents must be presented:

- attestation lycée / assignment card
- exact details of the training company (address, name and telephone number of the workplace tutor)
