The role of the documentation and information centre (CDI)
The CDI is an important tool in the development, learning and training of our school’s students and staff:
- Students and all members of staff can borrow or consult books, encyclopaedias, dictionaries and other works on site for information and documentation purposes;
- Teachers can work in the designated area with a class or group of learners to carry out research as part of a project or when dealing with a subject on the school curriculum;
- the computer consultation area enables Internet research for a project, a presentation or a lecture;
- the resource centre is essential for preparing personal work;
- The reading corner invites you to follow the news by reading daily newspapers, weeklies or specialist magazines, or simply to enjoy reading comic strips, …
- the CDI is a place where people meet in silence.
During the lunch break and after classes, students can use the library to read, do research and prepare their lessons.
A wide range of books, dictionaries, magazines and encyclopaedias are currently available.
The librarian/documentalist welcomes students and members of staff, advises them, helps them with their research, registers new acquisitions in the “a-z.lu” collective catalogue of the Luxembourg library network, chooses and orders titles to be acquired in collaboration with teachers and students, borrows books and organises special events.
