GEA: Workshops on “multiliteracies”

Expressing yourself means building your confidence! Last week, the educators in our GEA classes took part in workshops on ‘multiliteracies’. Led by a number of experts – Chris Welscher, IEBS, Joé Feiereisen, an expert in educational media, Sam Hastert, a film trainer, as well as Lea Lieser and Oliver Stanislowski from Arcus Digiloom – the participants discovered how digital and analogue media can be used to help the people they work with express themselves. Through a multimodal approach to language, they learnt how to help their audience develop the skills needed to thrive in today’s world. From the word for ‘crow’ to the use of AI for scriptwriting, via the targeted use of television interview techniques, right through to recording a podcast and producing various types of stop-motion films, every topic was covered.
